Women's celebration in Malawi

After face to face discussion with market director about my unfinished designs for Thirsty Planet so far, another design element that would work with my colourful eyecatching ideas for the campaign was of my initial thoughts, looking at the clothing in Milawi. They are colourful with strong design patterns and shapes, which are attractive, matching my theme and point being that we (18-24 yr old target audience) are desensitised to heart wrenching charity imagery and are attracted to trendy patterns and colour which will stand out amongst the industrial greys of motorways and bus stops where I will mockup my designs for.

Linoprinting will reference the charity in that it is handmade (referencing that harrogate made thirsty planet to help those disadvantaged and without as much water as we have in the uk), matching the ethical reasoning and format of the brand making an inprint on these peoples lives. This will make unique prints that represent honesty and DIY elements, the same as thirsty planet does for these countries. The focus on Milawi is due to the amazing success of the bottle donations and celebrates the colour, joy, and nourishing style colours represented through the clothing of the people the charity is helping.
