Brief 1: How perfume/scent is advertised

Through statistics and from seeing perfume advertising it is clear that sexual desire/appeal is used to sell perfume and has worked effectively, but the industry it stagnated with new best sellers rarely staying in the top 5 for the long run. Therefore creating an alternative is worth doing and testing on people to see if the design makes the scent look as appealing.
Instead of looking at commercial perfume advertising again which I usually see every time I read a magazine or enter the high street, I wanted to look at designers perfume projects on Behance to see if there were any designed using the ingredients/aromas/colours well visually designed for inspiration

Creating two distinct identities for seasonal natural perfume

For an Indian incense company- i really love how the branding is so synchronised but each product is so distinct due to it's colours- it all ties in with the visual taste you obtain from the designs in which you get the scent too.

Appealing to the sense of smell comes with many practical constraints. It's impossible for the medium of television... "the vast majority of perfume advertisements make no effort to describe the scents they are promoting." A captivating image, voice-over and storyline can go a long way in print, video and Web advertisements. Many well-known brands use models, music and slogans to help pique people's interest.'

'The Visual Image of Odor'
...it is in fact not just the glass bottles and hard paper they have to make – they are going to represent us the visual image of the odor inside. In many cases we subconsciously, not even realizing it, choose the perfume taking into account the looks of a vessel and a box it is packaged in. If it wasn’t true, they would not look practically as real art masterpieces!

The outcome will also depend on the existing brand image of Fairypants and the styles in which the client directs me on.
